I'm a modern languages (French and Spanish) graduate and have lived in various parts of France, Spain and South America for a total of eight years.
I have a very wide circle of interests and enjoy making connections between what my students like doing in their spare time and my lessons to make learning more fun and relevant.
I have tutored a broad spectrum of ages and abilities, from primary school children to adult learners, including teaching English at university level in France after graduation, when I worked with a wide variety of abilities and class sizes.
I'm a great believer in the power of visual aids, especially in vocabulary learning. Grammar is an important part of any language and I feel it needn't be as intimidating as many people find it to be. I'm a very patient person and I aim to teach grammar as it's used in normal speech, rather than in isolation.
Although not a native speaker of French, I have frequently been mistaken for one thanks to my excellent pronunciation. However, as an English speaker I have the advantage of understanding the difficulties most frequently experienced by fellow English speakers in terms of both grammar and speaking as I've had to grapple with them myself!
I genuinely love languages and I feel that this enthusiasm really shines through.
