I completed my BSc degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences, specializing in Molecular & Cellular Biology, in 2021, in Erasmus University College, Rotterdam, Netherlands. As of 2021, I started my 2-year MSc in Biology, specializing in Molecular Genetics & Biotechnology. During the first year, I completed a 6-month internship project in the Microbial Biotechnology & Health department of the Institute of Biology Leiden (IBL), with the title: “Obtaining an insight in the role of BGCs co-expressed with the lugdunomycin biosynthetic gene cluster using multiplexed genome editing”.
For this second and last academic year of my MSc degree, I decided to conduct my second research internship, in the Center of Research in Myology, which is associated with INSERM (French National Institute of Health and Medical Research) & Sorbonne University, in Paris, France. The internship is funded by the Erasmus+ grant and the Leiden University Biology Grant and it lasted until the end of July 2023 (9 months). This research internship project is aimed at creating a better diagnostic model and a therapy for incurable, to date, neuromuscular disorders related to Collagen VI and the title is: “Genetics and pathophysiology of neuromuscular disorders linked to the extracellular matrix and to the nucleus”.
As of August 2023, I am an MSc graduate and I will be working in the Center of Research in Myology, in the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), as a Research assistant.
